According to Russian news Pravda, a jury in Ukraine sentenced Russian member Olga Bykovskaya to five years in prison for breaking the laws and customs of battle after she was intercepted a call encouraging her husband, a Russian soldier, to murder Russian women.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv rendered the judgment on March 24, 2025, in a situation that sparked international outcry. Bykovskaya, who is still at large, was detained in proceedings and placed on a global wanted record.
Ukraine’s Security Service ( SSU) released an audio recording of a chilling conversation between Bykovskaya and her husband, Russian paratrooper Roman Bykovsky, who was actively involved in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in April 2022. According to the woman, the husband “uses protection” to carry out sexual violence against Russian women.
The couple was identified by Radio Liberty’s authorities, who traced them to Feodosia, a Crimean nation. Bykovskaya was detained in Ukraine in December 2022, leading to her future faith.
Additionally, Bykovskaya has been ordered to pay a sum of UAH 15, 000 ( roughly$ 362 ) in forensic and legal costs to the Ukrainian government. If no appeal is filed within the requested time, the decision may become effective.
Both Bykovskys denied role, despite the information. After being confronted by editors, Olga deleted her social media accounts and stopped communicating. Despite criminal testing, her father, Roman, insisted that the message on the SSU recording wasn’t his.
