The Maine Department of Education ( MDOE ) has received a “final warning” from the Trump administration over its “ongoing refusal to comply with Title IX” as it continues to allow male athletes to compete against female athletes in sports.
The Office for Civil Rights ( OCR ) of the U.S. Department of Education sent the letter to MDOE stating that it was in violation of Title IX and gave the organization until April 11 to comply. If not, the Department of Justice will be given the event.
It is remarkable how indifferent the Maine Department of Education has to its former, present, and future female sports. In a press release, Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Craig Trainor, acting assistant director for civil freedom, said that by refusing to comply with Title IX, MDOE allows — however, encourages — female competitors to threaten the health of female players, wrongfully claim girls ‘ hard-earned honors, and deny female athletes equal opportunity to attend education activities that are guaranteed by Title IX. Protection was an unreal argument in earlier administrations. Never longer. The Trump-McMahon Education Department is making quick progress to make sure that federal money don’t continue to support “patently illegitimate” actions that harm women and girls.
The Department of Education has issued the notice a few weeks after it had already discovered Maine to be violating Title IX. The state received a “proposed quality agreement” from the department before March 29.
The deal, which requires it to get all schools to adhere to Title IX and to inform them that it is against “allowing males to join in any sport system” or to provide any “designated for females,” has not been signed by MDOE. Additionally, the agreement requires MDOE to agree to the prohibition against the use of the terms “man” and “woman” in the context of the fact that there are only two sexes. Additionally, MDOE would also have to agree to return stolen sports records to the legitimate winners ( female athletes who were forced to compete against men ) and to end any restrictions that prevented male athletes from starting sports in the first place.
Federal education funding may be terminated for Maine as a result of Department of Justice trials.
The federal government is looking at Maine from a variety of perspectives because of its obstruction of several transgender-related problems. The Title IX controversy is being investigated by a number of different ministries, and according to The Federalist, Maine schools are being looked into for deliberately hiding students ‘ female confusion from their parents.
