After reportedly flipping over a table set up by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s College Republicans, doctor Jose Felipe Alvergue, the head of the school’s English department, was given an administrative leave.
Users of UW-Eau Claire’s College Republicans set up an instructional stand on Tuesday night, a special election time in Wisconsin, to support traditional Wisconsin Supreme Court nominee Brad Schimel and Republican superintendent applicant Brittany Kinser.
In a video released on social media following the incident, the CR book head, Tatiana Bobrowicz, described the incident as” a teacher came upwards and violently attacked us.” This is inadmissible, I say.
Administration immediately placed Alvergue on administrative leave pending a proper investigation, according to Interim Provost Michael Carney’s speech.

Every person has a right to free speech and expression, and UW-Eau Claire firmly believes in this, and the school continues to work to ensure that the school is a gathering place for the sharing and celebration of a wide range of views and beliefs.
The Office of General Counsel, which is looking into this subject thoroughly, and the Institutions of Wisconsin are working with us. The faculty member in question has been given administrative leave pending the outcome of that research, according to Carney.
On Tuesday, Alvergue did not respond to The College Fix’s requests for comment. In an email to The College Fix, University Director of Communications Michael Knuth cited Carney’s press speech.

In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Bobrowicz claimed the doctor had initially questioned their contact to a school polling place. She responded that the book had been approved by UW-Eau Claire for it.
The man turned the tables over and left,” the period for this is over.” She called the police right away and reported something. She claimed that UW-Eau Claire afterwards discovered José Felipe Alvergue, the head of the English ministry, in her report.
This raises the conversation a whole new level,” Bobrowicz told the news channel. Not just a doctor, but also the seat of a department. He’s supposed to act as an example for students, but these he’s acting as an example of crime.
On his private site, Professor Alvergue claimed to have immigrated from El Salvador during the region’s civil war and grown up close to the U.S. Mexico border. On his site, he discusses his determination to recognizing the limits of societal and personal relationships.
The incident took place as a result of the state’s notice to the April. 1 Wisconsin Supreme Court vote: a closely watched battle between conventional opponent Brad Schimel and liberal-backed Justice Janet Protasiewicz. In a vote that was commonly thought to be crucial to philosophical control of the state’s high court, Protasiewicz won.
Voters in Wisconsin even approved ballot measures to tighten the requirements for voter identification and private money in elections.
