In response to the questionable actor being charged with rape and sexual assault in his native country of and U.K., Russell Brand has issued a speech attacking the American government.
The charges were made public on Friday as Brand and his relatives were on vacation in Boca Grande, Florida. The 50-year-old blogger was charged with six counts of rape in connection with a series of incidents that date back more than 25 years, including one matter of rape for an alleged assault in 1999.
Days after the charges were made public, Brand took to social media to claim the allegations and criticize government in Britain.
He began an Instagram video that was shot from his hotel in Florida and declared,” We’re very wealthy in a time where there’s so much faith in the English authorities.” We’re lucky, in my opinion, that this is occurring at a time when people, institutions, and occasionally whole countries are being targeted by the law.
He next went on to ask his American viewers what their opinions are of the current legal system, particularly criticizing Keir Starmer’s administration.
How do you feel about some of the famous circumstances that aren’t being prosecuted and pursued? How do you feel about how the murders, Southport, and the  were handled? He inquired.
He next addressed the complaints against him directly after a brief period of general discourse.
” I’ve always told you guys that I was a fool when I was younger and second, before I had my wife and family,” the person said. Before I lived in the light of the Lord, he said,” I was a fool.” I was an idiot, a drug addiction, and a sex addict. But I was not involved in rape. I’ve always engaged in unconsensual behavior. I appoint that you can discover that.
He ended his film by thanking his followers for their support and promising them that he would be fighting for his rights in court.
On Saturday, Brand and his home, including his partner Laura and their three children, were reportedly spotted frolicking on a shore in Miami, apparently trying to stop the complaints from escalating their trip.
Brand has also been charged with two counts of sexual abuse, as well as one count of dental murder, in addition to one matter of murder. The allegations stem from encounters that allegedly occurred with four distinct girls between 1999 and 2005.
Officials in London announced that they had begun an investigation into Brand in  in September 2023  after receiving many problems following , a combined report , by , The Sunday Times, The , Times , of , London , and , Channel 4.
On May 2, Brand is scheduled to show up in court.
