Even after his new policies resulted in more than$ 6 trillion in stock market losses, President Donald Trump remained firm to his reciprocal tariff rollout on Monday.

The S&amp, P 500, and Dow Jones Industrial Average both experienced back-to-back loss of more than 1,500 points for the first time previously on Thursday and Friday, leading to a bear market for the NASDAQ, which fell 24 % from last year’s high.

A number of prominent investors, including Bill Ackman, a follower of 2024 Trump, have started making public demands on the White House to halt the April 9 price execution date in order for nations to be able to reach new trade agreements with the US.

Trump, however, chose not to wait while posing questions to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an Oval Office conference.

” We don’t care about that,” the statement read. More than 50 nations have approached the White House in the wake of Trump’s” Liberation Day” statement on Wednesday, according to the president, adding that there are “many, several locations that are coming to negotiate discounts with us, and they’re going to get good deals.

The White House claims that the president’s Monday morning talk with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru sparked trade negotiations between the United States and its beach alliance. Between 50 and 60 U.S. trading partners have contacted the White House to start conversations this year, according to White House aides.

Trump and Netanyahu had planned to hold a joint press conference following their initial meeting, but the White House made it clear early on Monday that the event did not long occur.

Economics and policy experts have flogged the question of whether Trump intends to “permanent” his tariffs, or whether he views them as a fresh negotiating instrument.

Trump’s “reciprocal” implementation was” just the beginning,” according to senior White House trade and manufacturing guidance Peter Navarro, who wrote in an editorial on Monday for the Financial Times.

They could be lasting tariffs or negotiations, he said, adding that there are things we need beyond tariffs. We’re going to find fair and good bargains with all of them, and if we don’t, we won’t have any ties to them either. They won’t been permitted to travel to the United States.”

” No one but me would do this,” said the leader. Trump said,” Nothing but me would do this.” We have the opportunity to alter the material of our nation, but it would be nice to offer a good, quick term. We have a chance to update the board.
