
U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll will succeed FBI Director Kash Patel as its acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Bombs.
While Driscoll is in charge of the ATF, which is a division of the Justice Department, Driscoll may continue to serve as Army director.  ,
According to Reuters, Patel’s departure from the position is unknown.

The ATF collaborates with regional law enforcement to look into weapons crimes. Based on rules that are passed by Congress, it is responsible for controlling the sales and registration of firearms.
The change in leadership comes as DOJ authorities consider combining ATF and the Drug Enforcement Administration as a cost-saving strategy.
