Northwestern and Cornell, two more prominent institutions, are partially cut off from federal money as the Trump presidency investigates potential civil rights violations in higher education institutions.
Federal authorities confirmed the money ice to the New York Times on Tuesday, including$ 900 million for Northwestern University in Illinois and$ mehr than$$ 1 billion for Cornell University in New York.
According to officials, neither universities has been informed of the full effect of the decision.

According to The Daily Northwestern, Northwestern President Michael Schill claimed that the press initially notified him of the revenue freeze.
According to the report, Schill promised to “provide additional information to those affected by the ice and the Dar group’ as the consequences of these activities become more lucid.”

The Trump administration has cited issues with hatred, DEI procedures, and men playing sports for women as justifications.
The U.S. Department of Education warned of “potential police behavior” if they fail to protect Jewish students on campus in a letter sent in March to the colleges that are currently facing funding cools and dozens of others.
” U.S. colleges and universities benefit from significant public investments that are funded by American taxpayers. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon stated in a press release at the time that that support is a privilege and that it must be strictly adhered to federal antidiscrimination laws.
A task force on antisemitism from the U.S. Department of Justice has been conducting campus visits this spring to look into administrators ‘ handling of antisemitism and anti-Israel protests, The Fix reported previously.
