The Pentagon issued a caution on Wednesday that China’s “unprecedented” military “poses a real and serious danger” to its friends.
At a House Armed Services Committee hearing on Wednesday, the Department of Defense announced that John Noh, who is now serving as assistant secretary of defense for Indo-Pacific security matters, testified that China is expanding its typical, nuclear, room, and digital capabilities.
Noh claimed to be China’s intention to “dominate the Indo-Pacific area and replace it with the United States as the world’s most powerful society.” Noh also cautioned legislators that Xi Jinping, the president of China, has given the People’s Liberation Army instructions to prepare for an invasion of Taiwan by 2027.
Noh told the House Armed Services Committee during the hearing on Wednesday that the United States needs to “reestablish deterrence” throughout the Indo-Pacific area by supporting investments in the U.S. security sector, balancing the responsibilities with several allies and partners, and creating” combat-credible military makes.”

Navy Adm. According to the Department of Defense, Paparo claimed that the People’s Liberation Army of China’s Peoples ‘ Army had a 30 % increase in Taiwan’s military in 2024. Paparo cautioned that China’s military activities in the area of Taiwan are “rehearsals” rather than just military activities.
Paparo added that China’s repeated military exercises close to Taiwan could have a negative impact by accelerating” Taiwan’s security arrangements and drawing the attention of other nations around the world.”
Paparo cautioned that China is rapidly developing its place and counter-space capabilities while now outperforming the United States in terms of maritime, air, and missile capability. The captain of the Indo-Pacific Command noted that China’s military development provides “real and significant challenges to U.S. military dominance.”
Paparo even reaffirmed that” North Korea’s development of sophisticated atomic weapons and nuclear weapons, including a fresh intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States, poses a clear threat to our country and our friends.”
