After serving time in the late 1980s for baby rape, lawyers claim that after nearly a century of his release, he sexually assaulted two of his family’s fresh children. He was sentenced to 480 years to life in prison on Monday.
Marcelino Arias Arca, 68, was found guilty of six misdemeanor counts of lewd acts against a child by a judge last quarter. The jury also determined that a special argument that there were many victims, as per the office of the Ventura County district attorney, was correct.
According to court records, Arca acknowledged another unique allegations involving a previous molestation conviction that contributed to his long sentence. Arca was allegedly found guilty of child rape in 1988, but the prosecution declined to provide any further information.
This defendant was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a baby a number of years ago. He chose never to change when he was given another chance, and rather chose to continue sexually abusing two more children, this moment within his own home,” Senior Deputy Dist. Atty. Ben Moreno stated in a speech. This statement “reflects the intense and profound harm he caused and sends a clear concept that repeat offenders, especially, will not tolerate child sexual abuse.”
Arca was detained in 2022 after being accused of abusing two babies between 2005 and 2014, according to authorities. According to the prosecution, the mistreatment wasn’t discovered until the victims both reported it to a family member a few years later.
” I applaud the two survivors for their remarkable courage in coming forward and confronting their abuser,” Moreno said. This accused will never again have the opportunity to hurt a child because of their courage.
