If Mexico doesn’t offer Texas the water he believes it owes, President Donald Trump is warning the nation that he may impose restrictions and additional taxes on the nation.
Trump claimed that until the water agreement is reached, Mexico owes Texas 1.3 million “acre-feet” of liquid under the 1944 water agreement. He also claimed that he would stop delivering waters to Tijuana, a town on the Californian border, until the agreement is reached.
” THAT ENDS Today!” I’ll make sure Mexico doesn’t break our Treaties and hurt our Texas producers, he added.
Texas and Mexico both experience dryness. Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s president, responded to Trump by saying that she had instructed her management to contact authorities from the U.S. Agriculture and State departments. She continued,” Mexico has been providing water wherever it is obtainable.”
She said,” I’m convinced that an agreement may be reached, just like there is on another issues.”
Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-TX ) thanked Trump for his commitment.
De La Cruz expressed gratitude to the Mexican authorities for holding them accountable for the waters they owe South Texans in a social media post. Any effect on Texas agriculture will have an impact on the entire nation because Texas is one of the biggest agricultural producing states. I will fight tirelessly for South Texas manufacturers and producers to ensure that we have the necessary water resources we owe.
THOSE RESPONSIBILITIES AND Prospects OF TRUMP’S MASS DEPORTATION PLAN
Given that Mexico already imposes a 25 % tariff on some goods, it’s unlikely that Trump will want to incisive them to impose additional tariffs.
Sheinbaum recently claimed that because of the” good relationship” between the two nations, they had avoided new taxes.
