A tourist helicopter carrying six individuals broke off in midair and crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon, according to the New York Post.
All on board was killed in the collision. Agustin Escobar, the mind of Siemens Spain, his spouse, and their three children, who had just arrived in Barcelona before that day, made up the victims. The captain passed away as well, whose personality has not yet been revealed.
The Post received a copy of a movie that a bystander had captured and posted that showed the aircraft losing its tail and rotors before colliding with the water to cause a huge splash.
Around 3:00, the incident occurred. 15 p.m. near Pier 40, off West Houston Street and West Street. Testimony claim that the aircraft appeared to be disintegrating before crashing into the frozen river like a stone.
