A Pennsylvania man has been accused of threatening to murder the president and other U.S. officials less than a week after a horrible survey found that more than half of self-identified leftists thought killing President Donald Trump may be justified.  ,
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Shawn Monper, 32, of Butler, the same community in Pennsylvania where Trump was just one-fifth of an inch from being killed in July, is facing federal charges of assault and murder on Trump, DOGE advisor and Tesla founder Elon Musk, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) agents, and others.  ,
Attorney General Pamela Bondi praised the remarkable and valiant analytical function of the FBI and the Butler Township Police Department, who sadly identified and apprehended this person before he could hold out his threats against President Trump’s life and the lives of other innocent Americans, according to a media release from Attorney General Bondi.  ,
According to the legal complaint, Monper, who allegedly took to YouTube as” Mr. Satan,” made a number of disturbing claims between January 15 and the weekend of previous trip. According to the Justice Department, the FBI National Threat Operations Section (NTOS ) received an “emergency disclosure” on Tuesday. According to the DOJ, a following federal investigation revealed that” Mr. Satan” was residing at Monper’s home.  ,
We Just Need to commence murdering citizens, they say.
Following President Trump’s opening, Monper reportedly” sought and obtained a weapon force” and later claimed. Federal officials claimed in February that Trump had been stocking up on ammunition and having purchased many guns since Trump took office.
The suspect reportedly wrote in March that” Finally I’m going to do a large shooting.” According to the legal problem, Monper stated a week later that” I have been buying 1 weapon a fortnight since the election, body armor, and ammo.”  ,
Here are the threats that Monper supposedly made, according to authorities.  ,
No, we just need to begin killing people, Trump, Elon, all the head of the companies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way, on February 17, 2025. Remember that we are the majority, MAGA is a majority of the nation, and by the time it’s time to make the move, many will have been crushed by these laws, and they will also need retribution. March 4, 2025: “im]sic ] going to assassinate him myself”. Woonper allegedly said it in a” Live: Trump’s Address to Congress” YouTube video.
March 18, 2025: “ICE are terrorists, we need to begin killing them.”
April 1, 2025:” I will view an armed snow agent as a private criminal, an active shooter, and opened fire on them if I see one.”
Monper was taken into custody on Wednesday by the FBI, with the assistance of the Butler Township Police Department. According to the DOJ, he has been “ordered detained pending preliminary and mention hearings” scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday.  ,
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan J. McKenna. The Federalist contacted Risetti’s office for comment on the request for comment.  ,
This Department of Justice will find, arrest, and prosecute the suspect to the fullest extent of the law and seek the maximum appropriate punishment, Bondi said.” Rest assured that whenever and wherever threats of assassination or mass violence occur, this Department of Justice will find, arrest, and prosecute the suspect, “rest assured that this will find, arrest, and seek the maximum punishment,” Bondi said.  ,
‘ Assassination Culture ‘
The alleged assassination threats are just the most recent illustrations of what a recent study found to be a growing “assassination culture.” According to a report released by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI ) in collaboration with Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab earlier this week, 31 % of respondents thought Elon Musk would be at least partially justified to murder him, and 38 % thought President Trump would be the same. Respondents who self-identified as left-of-center influenced these results, with 48 and 55 percent at least partially supporting the murder of Elon Musk and President Trump, respectively, which provides significantly higher justification for violence against these figures.
According to the study’s authors,” the reports found , widespread justification for lethal violence, including assassination,” among younger, highly online, and ideologically left-aligned users.  ,
At a Butler campaign rally in July, just two days before the Republican Party convention to nominate him for president, Trump was shot in the ear by a potential assassin.  ,
The man who is accused of assassinating Trump while he golfed in September was also facing additional Florida state charges of terrorism and attempted murder in the week that Monper’s arrest occurred.  ,
Attorney General James Uthmeier argued that the attempt to murder a former president and a leading presidential candidate was a political attack against our republican system of government and our shared American values.
