Those who believe that federal employees live on a “gravy coach” haven’t spent much time looking into labor unions ‘ racket. One labor leader has been using his people ‘ contributions to pay for his lavish lifestyle, according to a new Politico research.
The federal government can and should play a role in bringing this problem under control, even though efforts by the alleged Department of Government Performance have not yet been conducted. Rang-and-file people who are fed up of being duped by someone who claims to get their “leader” is also cast ballots in a new coalition head or, better yet, leave the union altogether.
Beautiful expenditures
The 1199SEIU United Health Care Workers East leader, George Gresham, was under investigation for his command in the Politico article. Gresham, who has been in charge of the coalition since 2007, is up against a possible political opponent this year from the opposition slate. The investigation found the problem that decades of uninterrupted electricity by a single person and philosophy can bring about when the union held its second competitive vote since 1989.
The list of doubtful, uncertain, and/or openly wasteful spending, which reportedly includes saving that seems to be centered more on Gresham and his cohorts than union members as a whole, is:
- In 2014 and 2018, a total of over$ 86, 000 was spent on two flights to South Africa.
- A 2019 live-music event in rural Virginia received around$ 92, 000 as part of the budget. The music, which were organized as part of a campaign titled” Raise Our Voices,” were marketed as being a component of a get-out-the-vote initiative. However, this celebration and others like it took place in the 500-person area of Urbanna, and they all happened at the same time Gresham’s relatives held family reunions in the same area.
- Gresham’s previous driver, who arranges entertainment for 1199SEIU events and occasions, and Gresham’s boy, who frequently played DJ for union events, received hundreds of thousands of dollars in income.  ,
- In addition to two transportation officials acting as his personal vehicles and attendants, more than$ 60,000 was spent” to protect his sister’s room, board, and transportation to follow him on business trips as his caregiver.”
- Despite Gresham owning his own home in the same town, more than$ 7,000 was spent on a House Inn in the Bronx following to Montefiore Medical Center.
Gresham’s extended relatives reportedly included more extended people of his extended family. The coalition gave Jesse Jackson a$ 50, 000 “legacy prize” two years ago when Jackson “found himself facing a pile of health costs,” according to the Politico history.
Out of Touch and Inexplicable
The union made an effort to discredit some of the above-mentioned spending by claiming that it must provide Gresham’s health needs. However, while we should all be gracious toward those who have short-term health problems, leaving one in charge who is no longer performing their duties shouldn’t. According to screenshots shared with POLITICO and four people who have witnessed it, Gresham” shows up late to meetings, frequently log on nearly while hooked up to a treatment machine, and therefore sleeps in the middle of them” seems much more likely than the original.
More important, federal law mandates that labour unions only spend income” solely for the benefit of the federation,” not just the leader’s, but also a select group of cronies associated with the innovator. The example cited in the account do not pass the test, according to a previous Department of Labor official who was quoted in the story:” All of them are red banners. The Labor Department and Congress may follow up on the Politico narrative with independent investigations if 1199SEIU people do not put Gresham and his number out in the upcoming election — and even if they do, then they should.
The 1199SEIU management appears to be a microcosm of the latest Democrat Party as a whole: out of reach, isolated from their own account, and focused more on preserving advantages for a limited elite than taking into account the needs of working-class Americans. Another illustration of why so many blue-collar families have abandoned a labor movement and a Democrat Party that have spent the last several decades abandoned them is in this one.  ,
