Egyptian state television announced on Saturday that Iran and the United States would continue to negotiate next week regarding Tehran’s rapidly expanding nuclear program. Following the first direct conversations between the two parties since the new Trump administration, this release was released.
In a rare instance of bilateral communication between two countries with nearly five years of disturbed relationships, Egyptian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi and US middle minister Steve Witkoff exchanged quick words in front of Oman’s foreign secretary on the outskirts of Oman.
Washington called the discussions “very positive and constructive,” according to a declaration from the organization. Witkoff reportedly told Araghchi that President Trump had given him clear instructions to find a diplomatic solution to the continuous issue.
The statement read,” These problems are very complicated, and special envoy Witkoff’s direct conversation today was a step forward in achieving a mutually beneficial outcome.”
Egyptian standard Baghaei acknowledged the conversations and appeared on state TV. He emphasized Iran’s desire to maintain its national interests through effective political contact. He added that this was only the start and that both nations were negotiating their initial jobs with the Omani negotiator.
” We are giving politics a sincere and honest chance so that we can move forward on one hand, and more important, we may lift restrictions,” he said.
