Suspected US airstrikes kill at least 6 people in Yemen, Houthi rebels say

DUBAI, UAE: The Houthis claimed Monday that they shot along another American MQ-9 Reaper helicopter, killing at least six people and injuring 30 over while claiming responsibility for alleged US airstrikes around Yemen’s rebel-held capital.
Over 120 people have died as a result of the US attacks against the rebels over their attacks on the East waters since its beginning almost a fortnight ago, according to fatality figures released by the Houthis ‘ Health Ministry.
A raging fire that the Houthis ‘ al-Masirah dish news channel aired in footage that firefighters sprayed water on, according to the film that was broadcast by the Houthis ‘ al-Masirah dish news channel. One man was rescued from the site, which the insurgents claimed was a ceramics shop in Sanaa, the capital, as rescuers carried one individual away. Rubble dotted the street.
The US government’s Central Command, which controls American military businesses, did not acknowledge the attacks. That echoes the command’s practice, which now has the White House’s consent to carry out strikes as freely as they please in the plan that started on March 15.
Additionally, the American government hasn’t been disclosing any details about the goals that were hit. According to the White House, thus far, there have been over 200 attacks.
Houthis state that another American aircraft was used to shoot down Yemen’s Hajjah governorate, which is located on the Red Sea border with Saudi Arabia, on Sunday night.
Brig. In a prerecorded video message, Houthi military spokesman Gen. Yahya Saree described the parliament as the third by the insurgents in two days. According to Saree, the rebels used a “locally created weapon” to attack the drone. The Houthis possess surface-to-air weapons, such as the Egyptian weapon known as the 358, which are capable of downing plane.
Iran denies arming the rebels despite a UN arms embargo and finding Tehran-manufactured weapons on the field and in water supplies destined for Yemen for the Shiite Houthi insurgents.
General Atomics Reapers cost about$ 30 million to fly at more than 40 000 feet ( 12, 100 meters ) and spend more than 30 hours in the air. They have been flown over Yemen, Afghanistan, and Iraq by the US government and the CIA for centuries.
Central Command acknowledged being aware of “reports” of the helicopter being shot down, but it did not provide more details.
The new US activity against the Houthis under President Donald Trump appears to be more considerable than it did under former President Joe Biden, with Washington moving from firing at standing personnel and dropping bombs on cities as part of a month-long, powerful strategy.
After the insurgents threatened to start firing” Israeli” boats once more because Israel had stopped aid from entering the Gaza Strip, the new strikes battle began. Numerous vessels may be targeted because the insurgents have loose definitions of what constitutes an Israeli fleet.
From November 2023 until January of this year, the Houthis used missiles and drones to attack more than 100 trader vessels, sinking two of them and killing four seamen. Additionally, they failed to succeed in launching strikes against American vessels.
The Trump administration’s strikes on the Houthis are a part of an effort to force Iran over its quickly advancing nuclear programme, so the US plan has no indicators of stopping.
