On Monday, Blue Origin safely completed its 11th human flight, sending an all-female team that included Jeff Bezos ‘ fiance Lauren Sánchez, blogger Gayle King, and pop star Katy Perry past the edge of space.
Six people were aboard the totally automated New Shepard capsules when the rocket descended shortly after 8:30 am local period from West Texas. The squad crossed the Kármán collection, the internationally recognized limit of space, and passed for a short moment of microgravity before making a soft landing at an altitude of more than 100 kilometers.
The first female flight since Valentina Tereshkova’s traditional music mission in 1963 and Blue Origin’s initial all-women crewed mission. Former Nasa jet professor Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, and maker Kerianne Flynn were also present at Perry, King, and Sánchez.
” The stars have always been something I’ve always wanted to see.” We’re all made of stardust, according to Perry ahead of the aircraft, noting that she had prepared by becoming averse to Carl Sagan’s and cosmology ‘ theories. The song, who is renowned for his cosmic-themed music like E. T. and Firework, claimed that the encounter involved more than just space travel. She remarked, “You’re daring, you’re daring… No limitations,” expressing the message she hopes to convey to younger girls. She continued, referring to her daughter Daisy, saying,” Being a mother really makes you amount up with that kind of power.”
The goal, according to Blue Origin, marked a groundbreaking for female place investigation. Personalized symbols representing each person’s legacy and contribution were featured on the goal patch. Before returning to the Texas plains, the New Shepard capsules soared at frequencies more than three days the speed of sound.
