A Bangladeshi judge issued arrest permits on Tuesday for former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her brother Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and 16 people for alleged irregularities in the distribution of government plots.
The court issued the arrest warrants after the charges were accepted in two of the six corruption cases that the anti-corruption commission (ACC ) filed.
By April 29, the judge has mandated that police in Dhaka and other districts submit reports on how the warrants were carried out.
In the Purbachal New Town project’s political area, Sector-27, ACC has filed a total of six instances alleging random allocation of six narratives, each 10 cottahs in length.
According to ACC records, Hasina conspired with senior representatives to allow the improper registration of plots to her brother Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, child Saima Wazed Putul, girl Sheikh Rehana, Azmina Siddiq, and UK senator Tulip Siddiq.
In all instances, the accused have been labeled as “fugitives.”
In a different situation, ACC alleges that Tulip fraudulently obtained a luxury apartment from a real estate developer in Dhaka’s premium Gulshan neighborhood. In four additional cases involving the same Purbachal story planning incident, arrest permits were issued on April 10 and April 13. Hasina has now been designated as a frequent accuser in each of the six ACC situations.
