The home of Karmelo Anthony, 17, who is accused of stabbing Austin Metcalf to death in self defense at a record celebration is planning to relocate to a new house with the funds raised for Karmelo’s legal battle. Karelo left jail after a judge reduced his bond from$ 1 million to$ 250, 000 on Monday. Anthony was charged with first-degree crime after stabbing Austin Metcalf, who had died in the hands of his mini brother, in a stunning death.
Anthony and Metcalf were no close friends. After Austin Metcalf, accompanied by his nephew, told Karmelo to walk because he was in the wrong place, he claimed Metcalf pushed him, and he took out the weapon in self defense, the two men exchanged racial epithets, leading to cultural debate, where Anthony is dark.
After Anthony’s home received racist threats from Metcalf’s death, over$ 420, 000 has been donated to his home through an online charity. Anthony’s father was questioned by the prosecution about his son’s ability to use the money to pay the initial connection. According to his parents, Andrew Anthony, the funds will also be used for Anthony’s security and that the family plans to relocate to a new home for added security.
Attorney Mike Howard, the defense attorney, said,” This home needs to be able to survive.” There has been a lot of stress. Given anything, I believe that the health of their younger kids is very important at this time. Living in a gated community is a good idea. Criminal defense and security information are certainly inexpensive.
Anthony’s attorneys initially requested that his bond be reduced to$ 150, 000, but Anthony’s attorneys claimed that$ 1 million was excessive because the teen had never been in trouble before.
Karmelo Anthony is currently under house arrest and wearing knee monitors. He is prohibited from using social media, from contacting Mecalf’s community, and from leaving his home only when his parents are present.
