Decades after the Jewish woman’s dog, Billie, vanished during the Hamas assault on October 7, 2023, Rachel Dancyg was reunited with him on Tuesday night. Israeli military conducting operations in the area discovered the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dead in Rafah, southwestern Gaza.
During the Hamas assault, which resulted in more than 1,200 deaths and more than 250 hostages, Dancyg’s ex-husband, Alex Dancyg, and her stepson, Itzhak Elgarat, were kidnapped and afterwards killed. About a third of its 400 people were killed or taken prisoner in Nir Oz, one of the hardest-hit areas. During the assault, some people reported seeing Hamas militants killing or bringing animals into the house.
Just days after reuniting with her 3-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Dancyg told the Associated Press,” It feels like a miracle.” ” So many people didn’t live, it doesn’t generate sense,” he said. How did she go about it?
Unexpectedly, a man called Dancyg and her child Lee Maor, who claimed to have found Billie, reportedly called them. The puppy apparently walked up to the soldiers and stayed put. The man claimed that she might have recognized Hebrew. The animal’s personality was confirmed by a chip.
Aviad Shapira, a supply soldier, claimed that he called out” shalom” to Israeli advertising and that Billie jumped on him. He took her to a physician where her users can be found because he believed she didn’t belong in Gaza.
After the assault, Dancyg and her family relocated to northern Israel and searched for Billie for weeks without victory. She described the meeting as being incredible and personal on Wednesday. Although Billy appeared confused and was thinner, he was actually great.
