Negotiations between Iran and the US at a 'very crucial' stage, head of UN's nuclear watchdog says
    Rafael Grossi ( AP )

The mind of the UN’s nuclear watchdog said on Thursday while on a visit to the Islamic Republic that Iran and the United States are “in a pretty important” level.
In Rafael Mariano Grossi’s remarks from the Tehran-based International Atomic Energy Agency was acknowledged that his company would likely be crucial in ensuring Iran’s compliance in the event of a deal. After the first meeting last weekend in Oman, Iran and the US did meet once more in Rome on Saturday for a fresh round of discussions.
Prince Khalid bin Salman, the kingdom’s highest-ranking official to visit Iran since the two nations ‘ agreement on a detente led by China in 2023, even came on the heels of Grossi’s attend.
The stakes were never higher as a result of the conversations on Saturday and the growing political conflict in the Middle East, especially as the Gaza Strip’s Israel-Hamas conflict rages on. If a deal isn’t reached, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to launch attacks against Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian leaders are getting more and more concerned about the potential for nuclear weapons to be pursued with their near-waffen-grade stash of uranium.
Grossi visits Iran on Wednesday evening for” important” talks between the US and Iran. Grossi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is currently a subject of individual discussions in Moscow. Grossi met with Iranian Atomic Energy Organization mind Mohammad Eslami on Thursday, and the following day, he took a tour of a house with some of Iran’s nuclear tasks for the public.
We are in a very important, I would say, step of this significant negotiation, so I want to focus on the good, Grossi told Egyptian press. There is a chance that things will turn out well. Nothing can be guaranteed. In order to reach this arrangement, we must make sure that we have all of the necessary components in place.
He continued,” We are aware that we don’t have much time. So this is the justification for my presence around. I keep in touch with the United States as well because of this.
When asked about Trump’s threats to harm Iran, Grossi urged citizens to” rely on our objective.”
All of these points will disappear when we reach our aim, he said, leaving no cause for concern.
According to Eslami, Iran hoped that the IAEA would “maintain fairness and conduct itself,” according to a report from the state-run IRNA media organization.
Iran has abandoned all restrictions on its system and has uranium enriched to up to 60 % beauty- close to weapons-grade levels of 90 % since the nuclear deal broke down in 2018 with Trump’s punitive departure from the deal.
Some of the most skilled investigators at the Vienna-based organization have been barred from Iran while security cameras installed by the IAEA have been disabled. Iranian leaders have also been making exceedingly strong threats that they may do nuclear weapons, something that the West and the IAEA have been concerned about for years since Tehran abandoned its prepared weapons programme in 2003.
Despite growing tensions between Iran and the company, its accessibility has not been completely revoked.
