Joe Biden not resisted tampering with his public assistance to get from others. The man who never earned more than$ 230, 000 or wrote a book that no one else ever read managed to amass a net worth of around$ 10 million before he assumed all the power over the Oval Office, or at least appeared to do so.

My first inclination was to have a hearty laugh when I learned that Biden had signed with Creative Artists Agency ( CAA ) just a few weeks after leaving office to help him reserve those sweet post-presidential speaking gigs. Who was willing to pay a six-figure speaking payment to a man whose tools include basic motor functions and teleprompters?
Not to mention all the expected add-ons that quickly increase the cost. A group of brain men will guard him against wandering, shaking hands with ghosts instead of guests, or soiling his baby, among others. There is also the secret flight, the staff, and, in Biden’s case, a full team of body men.
However, whatever you or I may think of him, he was a former president and typically attracted well-paying speaking costs, for reasons I’ll spare here. I felt like I should let the market decide Biden’s worth as a public speaker and suppress my laughing as a training capitalist.

The New York Post reported late on Thursday that” Former President Joe Biden’s attempt to bill$ 300,000 per speaking engagement is finding few takers.” After reminiscing about” colored children,” the 82-year-old is now in his first public address since taking business,” some of his own previous advisers say it’s time for him to leave the light for great.”
The tipster claimed that CAA is having trouble booking gigs, which isn’t surprising. Steven Nelson, a journalist for The Post, said,” It’s not clear why Biden is having trouble finding big-dollar audiences.

Oh, please. While he was still working in the Oval Office, Biden was unresponsive. He’s the geriatric version of Less Than Zero now that he’s out.  ,
His asking price is nothing to beg about, assuming Biden does manage to land more gigs following Tuesday’s racial fiasco. One Biden is worth three-quarters of an Obama, according to my good friend Barack, who, as Biden likes to describe his former boss, has a post-presidential asking price of$ 400, 000. I can’t really decide which one of them should feel more embarrassed.  ,
To be fair, Obama’s asking price is still the same as it was when he first left office when he was still in office, but Bidenflation reduced that price to about$ 308, 000 in” 17 dollars.” So it appears that Biden isn’t the only ex-president who is currently offered at a discount.
Another Fact: Bill and Hillary Clinton didn’t also become multicentimillionaires and no longer offer high-quality goods or services on the free market. They were a few small-town hustlers who planned and hacked their way into the big time before being flagrant and unapologetic about taking advantage of the White House for all it was worth. They even made a second and third attempt at it in 2008 and 2016 and were nearly successful because they were never called to account. What a tarnish on our country’s reputation those two have.
Of course, former presidents don’t get six-figure public speaking positions because their speeches are so precious. They are paid six figures because they still have some juice even though they have left office or, as in Biden’s case, were hounded out of it by his own party’s power brokers.

( I’m willing to admit that prestige does affect how much former presidents are paid to appear, but only if you’re willing to acknowledge that it does in our increasingly corrupt system. )
Former presidents have friends who work in high places, whether they are on Capitol Hill, K Street, or in foreign cities. When the right time and place are right for a whisper into the ear of a former president, wealth can be found. One of those six-figure speaking arrangements is necessary, though, to whisper even close enough.  ,
