
The Robert C. Weaver Federal Building, the offices of HUD, was added to a list of national components designated for “accelerated disposal” on Thursday by the General Services Administration.
The tower has 700, 000 flat feet and is 10 surfaces tall, above theL’Enfant Plaza Metro station, two blocks away from the National Mall. According to the GSA, it still has 50 % capacity even now that President Donald Trump’s executive order requires that federal employees resign from office.
The Trump administration wants to lower the burden on taxpayers by covering the costs of maintaining big, expensive governmental buildings. Weaver’s book is$ 56 million, and his maintenance and modernization needs are$ 500 million.
The national tower, nevertheless, has landmark status and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Weaver cannot be sold unless it can be certain that its traditional morality will be upheld. Therefore, it would be impossible to destroy the tower.  ,

Weaver was added as a “non-core” property last month by the Trump administration, but the list was later terminated because it needed more time to “understand the details of the property listed.”
