Gaza City: On Friday, Hamas pleaded with the international community to immediately impose force on Israel to stop its total blockade of the Gaza Strip, which had been in place since March 2.
The insurgents ‘ appeal comes after the UN issued a warning about worsening conditions and a shortage of elements like medicine.
Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas’s key negotiator, stated in a speech that” the international community is required to act immediately and impose the necessary force to put an end to the unlawful blockade imposed on our people in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian militant group called for a” complete” agreement to finish the 18-month-long conflict on Thursday and expressed its opposition to Israel’s most recent peace plan.
The UN issued a warning on Monday that Gaza, which has 2.4 million people, is facing its most intense humanitarian crises since the conflict started in October 2023.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs,” the humanitarian condition is then possible to be the worst it has been in 18 times.”
OCHA claimed in a statement that no resources had been arriving in Gaza for a quarter and a half.
According to the UN, medical products, fuel, water, and other necessities are in short supply.
Israel Katz, the country’s defense minister, stated on Wednesday that it would continue to block humanitarian assistance entering the Gaza Strip.
One of the main obstacles to Hamas ‘ use of this support as a resource against the people is to stop using it, Katz said in a statement.
A Hamas cause told AFP that the organization wrote to negotiators on Thursday regarding Israel’s most recent request for a 45-day peace. Hamas claims that Israel had requested the transfer of 10 victims held by the organization as living prisoners.
Additionally, it demanded that 1, 231 Israeli prisoners be freed from Israeli custody and that humanitarian aid be able to enter Gaza.
The organization rejects the requirement that Hamas subdue in order to put an end to the war.
