What are charges against Harpreet Singh? Terrorist involved in 14 grenade blasts in Punjab

The FBI and US immigration officials have detained evil suspect Harpreet Singh, who is wanted in India for allegedly causing 14 bomb blasts in Punjab, in Sacramento, California.
According to the FBI’s Sacramento business, Singh was detained on Thursday and is also accused of being involved in 17 legal cases in India, including those involving violence and drug trafficking.
Harpreet Singh, an alleged terrorist accountable for the terror attacks in Punjab, India, was detained by the FBI and ERO in Sacramento now. He entered the US fraudulently and used burner phones to evade capture, according to the FBI in a blog on X. He is a member of two foreign terrorist organizations.
Singh is a tribal of Passia town in the Amritsar area and is also known as Happy Passia and Jora. He improperly crossed into the US via Mexico in 2021 after spending a short time in the UK. Between November 2022 and April 2024, Singh has been accused of carrying out numerous violent acts, including using munitions and providing material support to terrorist organizations, according to India Police.
In connection with the 2024 Chandigarh grenade attack, the National Investigation Agency ( NIA ) named Singh in its charge sheet filed in March 2024.
Both Singh and Harwinder Singh Sandhu, an alleged operative of the banned group Babbar Khalsa International ( BKI), are accused of masterminding the attack and providing funds, weapons, and explosives to on-the-ground operatives.
The NIA cost strip read:” Investigations revealed that Rinda, along with Happy Passia, had orchestrated the plot to strike terror among law enforcement officials and the general public through the rocket invasion as part of the broader effort to promote BKI’s criminal plan. According to their immediate orders, they had recruited two local operatives, Vishal Masih and Rohan Masih, who were assigned to carry out the attack. According to investigations, Randa and Happy ordered Rohan Masih and Vishal Masih, the other suspects, to do reconnaissance on the specific twice before throwing the grenade.

The grenade attack from September 2024, which is believed to have been carried out by a retired Punjab Police officer, is a part of what American organizations refer to as a international terror plot to revive militancy in the area.

Singh has been charged by the NIA under a number of different categories, including:

    • Sections 13 (unlawful activities ) and 16 (terrorist acts ) of the 1967 Unlawful Activities ( Prevention ) Act.
    • Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita ( BNS), 2023: Sections 109 ( abetment ), 351 ( 2 ) (attempt to murder ), 333 ( grievous hurt to deter public servant ), and 61 (unlawful assembly )
    • Areas 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the Explosive Substances Act of 1908, which deal with causing or attempting blasts, obtaining explosives, and preventing abetment
Given Singh’s unlawful entry into the US and the complexity of diplomatic legal methods, it is anticipated that India will start the extradition method. However, it remains to be seen how fast things will progress.
