A new study shows a huge majority of Americans favor the Trump presidency ’s measures to combat racism on U. S. schools.

According to the poll conducted by Schoen Cooperman Research and Israel on Campus Coalition, two-thirds of those surveyed “strongly ” or “somewhat” support cutting federal funding to universities that “do not do enough to protect Jewish students or address antisemitism. ”

Two-thirds also “strongly ” or “somewhat” support rescinding visas and deporting non-U. S. citizens “who participate in protests supporting Hamas, ” a terrorist organization according to the U. S. state.

Seventy-five percent of participants also say they are “very ” or “somewhat” concerned that anti-Israel/pro-Hamas campus protests lead to anti-Jewish hate crimes and violence.

    Another poll studies include:

    — Based on “what they know, ” 54 percent help the imprisonment of Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia graduate student who helped guide several pro-Hamas demonstrations. A plurality ( 40 percent ) of college students also favor his deportation.

    — 85 cent believe Israel has the right to protect itself.

    — 86 pct agree “Palestinians in Gaza have suffered because Hamas started a battle by attacking Israel on October 7th [2023] and kidnapping human victims. ”

    — 81 percent believe that the Israel-Hamas war would have ended much had Hamas returned the Jewish victims and abandoned power.

    — One-third of respondents say Israel is engaged in a “genocide” via its continuation of military actions against Hamas.

    — 17 percent say Hamas “should be allowed to remain ruling Gaza. ”

Jacob Baime, CEO of the Israel on Campus Coalition, said in a speech “The American government has sent a clear information: institutions must be held responsible for failing to protect Jewish individuals from bias and harassment.

“Amid a rising issue of hatred, too many educational organizations have neglected their work. With 66 % of U. S. people and 56 % of college kids supporting the removal of federal money from institutions that tolerate such problems, these observations signal that administrators must act quickly to ensure a safe, inclusive environment for Jewish students. ”
