During a hard-hitting segment on ABC’s “This Week, ” border king Tom Homan tore into Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md. ) for prioritizing a suspected MS-13 crew part over the numerous American victims of illegal immigration. Homan’s remarks came in response to Van Hollen’s journey to El Salvador, where the legislator met with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an reported MS-13 part, wife-beater, and human smuggler just deported by the Trump presidency.

“ What bothers me more than that is a U. S. lawmaker traveled to El Salvador on taxpayer money to fulfill with a MS-13 crew member, public health threat, terrorist, ” Homan said. “And in the meantime, the day before he traveled, an illegal alien was arrested for death, released to the streets rather than honoring an ICE expunction in his very own condition. ”
Homan did n’t stop it. He slammed Van Hollen for turning a blind eye to the frontier issue throughout Joe Biden’s president.
“ What concerns me is Van Hollen never went to the border the last four years under Joe Biden, ” he said, “when you had a 600 % increase in sex trafficking in women and children. You have a record number of known suspected jihadists crossing that borders. You had a quarter million Americans die from fentanyl overdoses because of the empty borders. ”
He continued, “You got over 4,000 illegal creatures [who] died making that journey, which is an historical document. What surprises me is he’s remained motionless on the tragedy that happened on our southeastern borders. ”
Homan emphasized the astounding human cost of lax immigration enforcement, everything Van Hollen appears indifferent in addressing.

“Many individuals died. Thousands of people died, ” he said. “I’ve met with plenty of angels moms and dads who buried their children that were murdered by an improper alien—how some god moms and dads has he met in, in the state of, uh, condition of Maryland? That’s what concerns me. ”

According to Homan, this is n’t only about one deportation—it’s about a total failure to acknowledge the real-world effect of Democratic immigration laws.
“ He’s more concerned about getting a photo op with a gang member, ” Homan said, “than he is about the thousands of Americans who have been killed, raped, or trafficked because the border was left wide open for four years. ”
Homan concluded with a damning indictment of Van Hollen’s priorities: “ He did n’t care when border patrol agents were being overrun, when families were being destroyed, when fentanyl was pouring into this country. But then he wants to talk about expected approach for someone with MS-13 relationships? ”
