Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich could not help but laugh at the Democratic Party’s frequent resistance against President Donald Trump, suggesting the president has “a knack ” for entrapping his political opponents.
Gingrich was perplexed by Democrat politicians, especially Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), going “off the heavy end ” in seeking to gain Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the United States after he was falsely deported to El Salvador, yet after the U. S. Department of Homeland Security determined Garcia to be an MS-13 group member. The former House speaker contended Van Hollen “never ” expressed the same concern for the victims of illegal immigrants that he has given to Garcia, adding that he has never seen Democratic lawmakers “this deranged. ”
Gingrich proceeded to claim that Trump is “probably ” the best politician serving in the United States at getting his opponents “totally screwed up, ” adding, “ I don’t know how he does it. ” He pitched a fictional scenario where Trump decides, “Oh gee, I think I’ll tweet everything that guarantees they’ll get mad. ” Gingrich noted that Trump’s critics tend to do just that: “Four days out of five, it works. ”
“This is worse than Lucy with the sport in Peanuts, remember, and she used to take the sport at the last moment? ” Gingrich stated, referring to a recurring prank in Charlie Brown television offers. “This is painfully awful, and they don’t seemed to be able to get a grip on themselves. ”
VAN HOLLEN SKIRTS QUESTION AS TO WHETHER ABREGO GARCIA IS MS-13 Part
The former speaker concluded by jokingly speculating that Democratic lawmakers are congregating with “a lot of alcohol ” and commending Van Hollen for making “a fool of yourself, ” as he could not determine any other reason for the party ’s current “level of insanity. ”
Gingrich is not the only one poking fun at Van Hollen’s notice to Abrego Garcia, as Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA ) joked that he changed the senator’s office plaque to state he now represents El Salvador rather than the state of Maryland. Trump has even rebuked Van Hollen’s appointments, calling the lawmaker a “fool” who is “begging for consideration. ”
