The Donald Trump administration plan-to-restructure-bloated-us-state-department/articleshow/120525678.cms” class=””>unveiled its ambitious schedule for a “massive reform” of the US State Department on Tuesday. United States secretary of state Marco Rubio, who leads the office and announced the reform plan, said the shift was part of the federal president’s” America First” responsibility.
” We cannot win the battle for the 21st century with inflated administration that stifles creativity and misallocates limited resources. That is why, under the administration of President Trump and at my way, I am announcing a reorganisation of the Department so it may satisfy the tremendous challenges of the 21st Century and put America First,” Rubio said in a department-wide message.
Consolidation of departments and agencies
The program includes consolidating 734 ministries and workplaces to 602. Likewise, as many as 137 agencies would be transitioned to another location within the office to increase their effectiveness.
Staff decrease in US
The report envisions the State Department to include 15 per share less people in the United States than its existing range of employees in the country.
New department to oversee bureau on’democracy and human right ‘
A new business of” cooperation for international support and humanitarian affairs” may monitor a bureau on “democracy, human rights and spiritual freedom,” a shift from the latest “democracy, individual rights and labour. ” It would also collect the features of the US Agency for International Development.
The new business would substitute a department which oversees” human security, democracy and human rights. ” The sector is now led by an under-secretary of state, a top position.
Important agencies to get shut down
The strategy proposes to reduce Conflict and Stabilization Operations, whose actions have included a work pressure to “anticipate and stop” atrocities elsewhere, before these occur.
Even absent under the reform is an office on conflict crimes, whose current labor has included capturing Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.
