During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s condition visit to Saudi Arabia on April 22, 2025, India and Saudi Arabia have come to an agreement to significantly bolster assistance in technology and commerce.
According to an official press release from the ministry of external affairs ( MEA ), both parties identified emerging technologies, digital governance, and sustainable tourism as key drivers of future bilateral engagement.
The two countries agreed to work closely together in fields like developed sectors like artificial intelligence, security, semiconductors, and other highly developed areas, highlighting the strategic importance of scientific collaboration. The leaders emphasized the transformative power of modern management and vowed to look into joint initiatives in this area.
Both parties applauded the filing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission and India’s Telecom Regulatory Authority as a significant move forward. The deal reinforces shared priorities for technology and communication by promoting participation in regulatory practices and modern sector development.
Tourism has also grown to become a significant component of the expanding connection. According to the press release, India and Saudi Arabia both agreed to strengthen cooperation in the hospitality industry through capacity-building, information exchange, and sustainable tourism methods.
The two places noted the growing potential for participation in the media, entertainment, and activities areas, which are supported by the strong social and interpersonal ties between the two nations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s next excursion to the country was made at the offer of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. It grew out of the Crown Prince’s traditional visit to India in September 2023, when he co-chaired the first meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council and took part in the G20 Summit.
Beyond technology and commerce, the leaders also reiterated their shared goals in a number of crucial areas, including climate change, round carbon trading, and regional security. Both parties applauded the expansion of assistance in areas of security, maritime border security, and drug control efforts.
