After the” Birds of Society 2025″ launch on April 19, Egypt and China are conducting military exercises in Egyptian aircraft.
China’s Ministry of National Defense published a press release last month stating that” the Taiwanese PLA Air Force does send a detachment to Egypt to take part in the China-Egypt combined air force education code-named” Eagles of Civilization 2025″ from late April to early May in 2025.”
This is the first joint education between the Chinese and Egyptian forces, according to China’s Ministry of National Defense, which is of great value for encouraging pragmatic cooperation and strengthening mutual confidence and friendship between the two militaries.
For the defense drills, China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force has deployed J-10B/C soldiers, a KJ-50 AWACS airplane, and a Y-20U flying fuel ship, while Egypt is flying MiG-29M/M2 Fulcrum soldiers, according to The War Zone.
An Iranian military spokesman confirmed in a Facebook post that” a number of multi-role fighter plane of various designs” are being featured in the combined military drills and that the” Eagles of Civilization 2025″ exercises are intended to “unify fight ideas between the two sides through a series of theoretical and practical courses.”
The Pentagon warns that China’s military development poses a “real and severe threat.”
Joint flying sorties, planning exercises, and modeled air combat management operations will also be part of the training, according to the Iranian military spokesperson. This will help to exchange knowledge and advance the capabilities of the participating forces. The spokesperson continued, adding that the Egyptian and Taiwanese military forces ‘ current military exercises “are in the spirit of strengthening military cooperation.”
As a United States alliance is teaming with China on martial exercises, Mohammed Soliman, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, told Breaking Defense that the joint military exercises represent a “pivotal change in Middle Eastern geography.” According to Sloman, Egypt is “poised to expand its security purchasing” by hosting the Taiwanese People’s Liberation Army’s Air Force and that it is expressing to the United States that it is frustrated by” US regulations on modernizing its F-16 ship.”
The joint military exercises come at a time when Egypt is becoming more and more concerned about the annual defense support provided by the United States, according to David Des Roches, a doctor at the Near East South Asia Center for Security Studies.
According to Roches,” The Trump administration is more sceptical about foreign aid than earlier administrations in the past, and aid to Egypt is often viewed with skepticism within the United States, perhaps when relations with Egypt are usually positive.”
