When I was in second grade at Central Elementary School, every girl was swooning over Judy Blume’s” Are You There God?” It’s Me, Margaret”. There were two copies in the school library, and there was a waiting listing to use the book. However, the school library, Mrs. Horvath, had another issue. She had never permit kids to access the text without the author’s express parental consent. And with good cause. It has adult themes, such as young girls obsessing over their bust size and sexuality, menstruation, and menstruation. Mrs. Horvath marched me down to the principal’s company and used the university assistant’s phone to call my family when my name appeared on the list. As the library explained what was in the book, I grinned deeply. My family reacted with approval, and that was the end of it.  ,

Contrary to thousands of families in Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, whose children are being forced to read and examine LGBTQ books from post, regardless of whether the kids like it or not, my family had a decision. The school reversed its previous policy of allowing for the exemptions when parents attempted to choose their children over. Outraged parents staged protests at school board meetings only to be referred to as” white supremacists” and” xenophobes” by members of the board.  ,
The Supreme Court, which heard oral arguments this year, is currently hearing oral arguments from a group of parents, who ultimately filed the lawsuit. ( Learn more about that situation here. )
In a Supreme Court short, the Becket Legal Fund for Religious Liberty, which represents the families, read:  .
However, the Board introduced a number of contentious “LGBTQ-inclusive” textbooks to get read and discussed with students in post through fifth grade in 2022. The Board for the first time removed notice and opt-outs, telling administrators and teachers that parents may no longer be notified when the novels were being taught or be able to settle their children out when thousands of families raised spiritual concerns. According to the Board’s personal records, the board’s own documents state that the board’s intention is to “disrupt” children’s “either/or thinking” about gender and sexuality. The Board acknowledges that children may” come away from]such ] instruction with a new perspective that their parents are unlikely to easily violate.

The trails are a pity.  ,
It’s possible that the Court may act responsibly and support the kids, but it’s difficult to say when they will make a decision.  ,
Parents should not be required to choose out of any groups or supplies they dislike. In the beginning, the elements with sexual themes shouldn’t get found in classrooms. Families who want their children exposed to the full spectrum of sexual knowledge, LGBTQ education, gender-bending, and another perversions should settle in, though, if schools insist on pushing this thing on kids. The majority of families of three-year-olds and special needs children, who are also defendants in the Supreme Court case, don’t want their children exposed to elements that are inappropriate or contrary to their religious beliefs. I have a feeling that the number of parents who would choose to enroll their children may be minute.  ,
So, instead of having hundreds of angry parents, the school district could easily woo the few parents who want their children to be indoctrinated into the LGBTQ cult through an elective or even an after-school class. [ H/T to my friend Rod, who pointed out this potential alternative. ]
Or request explicit permission from teachers and school library whenever they want to introduce a child to sexual material or sex nonsense. The trails are now required to explain exactly what is contained in the ebooks and other teaching materials, and to explain to parents how this will help their children.  ,
