A mature security official announced on Thursday that the US department of defense’s chief of staff, which is currently under the control of security secretary Pete Hegseth, will step down.
According to the official,” Joe Kasper will continue to serve President Trump as a Special Government Employee (SGE ) handling special projects at the Department of Defense,” according to AFP.
This departure comes after many notable departures from older Pentagon positions, including the dismissal of three officials last week from a drip investigation involving reported conflicts with Kasper.
Former Pentagon officials Colin Carroll, Dan Caldwell, and Darin Selnick had responded on Sunday, claiming that they had” slandered our character with baseless problems.” A shared social media statement from them released with questions regarding the prosecution’s specifics and status.
Given President Trump’s record of holding officials responsible, former Pentagon press director John Ullyot criticized Hegseth in a Sunday view article. Ullyot cited recent turmoil and doubted his future leadership.
Hegseth is currently at the center of a disagreement over his alleged use of the Signal communication app to examine Yemen strikes with his spouse and unorthodox participants.
The White House continued to support Hegseth despite recent discoveries that revealed he had shared information about the Yemen reach in an unintentional journalist-related Signal conversation. It recently rejected well-known rumors that the defence minister may be replaced.
