Batya Ungar-Sargon launched a burning attack on the public’s weary and unpleasant routine of comparing President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler during an emotional trade on CNN. The discussion was sparked by comedian Larry David’s humorous article in The New York Times about Bill Maher’s meal with Trump.

The conversation started with host Abby Phillip making reference to Maher’s protection of his relationship with Trump. According to Maher, a frequent critic of the previous president, comparisons like these belittle the Holocaust.  ,
” First of all, I really think it’s kind of demeaning to six million dying Jews, you know, like that should type of get in its own place in history,” Maher said. It’s an explanation you sort of lost only to begin it, they say. Phillip noted that this attitude echoed panelist Dan Abrams’ earlier claim that using Hitler immediately alienates audiences.
Ungar-Sargon, whose household suffered severe losses during the Holocaust, went further and criticized the comparison, calling it unpleasant and depressing. She remarked,” The true Hitler killed half of my home.” To visit Trump” Hitler” is to visit over 80 million Americans- 35 % of Israeli Americans, 56 % of Hispanic people, and the majority of Americans who make under$ 100, 000 a month, Germans, because those are the people who gave Donald Trump his success, according to the statement.

Her comment emphasized the broad partnership supporting Trump in the 2024 election, mainly working-class voters who feel alienated by wealthy language.
Ungar-Sargon accused powerful democrats like Larry David of smear regular Americans in her criticism. You should have a profound contempt for someone like Larry David, who is fair$ 400 million, sitting there and smushing the hardest-working Americans for refusing to co-sign their own disinheritance, she said. She claimed that these similarities show a connect between the wealthy elites and the working-class voters who supported Trump.
When these entrepreneurs come out and visit Trump” Hitler,” that is essentially what they are doing. Working-class Americans are referred to as” Nazis” because they chose the people they believed would give their children the future that this country promised, and that is just going to stop, Ungar-Sargon said. She added that this speech alienates the pretty voters they need to get back, which is a contributing factor to the Democrats ‘ electoral costs.

Trump is called Hitler by the majority of Americans making under$ 100K annually for refusing to cosign their abandonment, but you are calling Hitler. The working class is mocked and slander by multi-millionaire progressives for wanting their children’s future. It’s repulsive. photograph. twitter.com/qduGTBygYp— Batya Ungar-Sargon ( @bungarsargon ) April 25, 2025
