Brokers detained state judge Hannah Dugan in Milwaukee on suspicion of obstructing immigration enforcement, according to FBI director Kash Patel’s statement on Friday. Dugan, a Milwaukee native, is currently in her ninth year as a judge of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. According to a report from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Milwaukee native was being investigated by the US for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant avoid being detained by the US.
Dugan, a former president of the Milwaukee Bar Association, defeated then-Gov. Paul Rifelj to become Branch 31 of the Circuit Court in 2016. Walker, Scott. She is in charge of the misdemeanor division primarily. Dugan won the election in 2022 without any opponents.
Dugan, 65, received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1987. Since then, she has spent a significant portion of her career serving the underprivileged and the vulnerable, first with legal aid organizations and then as executive director of Catholic Charities.
