One day before the dark knot function, which is held annually at a Washington, D.C. hotel, Leavitt said in an interview with Politico that” President Trump has revolutionized the way a leader communicates.”
She compared Joe Biden, who “hid from the click,” to Trump’s repeated relationships with the internet. She claimed that Trump’s clear interaction with the public via social media makes him little more open than previous presidents.
But, Eugene Daniels, chairman of the White House Correspondents Association, doesn’t think that’s how it looks.
Daniels lamented Trump’s activities against the WHCA and the media, claiming that he has been even more angry than he was in his first term.
” Just because the White House made the poor decision to take over the media swimming, doesn’t think the job that we do for our people has stopped,” Daniels, who just left Politico for a opening role at MSNBC, said.
Trump has taken over the movement for writers who have privileged access to White House events, threatened to take over chairs projects in the media briefing chamber, and kicked the Associated Press out of the Oval Office and off Air Force One.
Because they allow nontraditional “new media” stores inside the White House, his presidency has portrayed those techniques as a win for the internet and the public.
According to Kind,” we view it as allowing more stores, more voices, and more reports journalists” be heard.
She also criticized Daniels ‘ WHCA board, calling it a” small group of journalists” with a “monopoly” over the access to the press room and press room.  ,
” There should be equitable access for all retailers, and that’s precisely what we’re doing,” she said.
Daniels objected to that description on a number of sides.
One of his main points was that the president, among other things, shouldn’t determine who gets to handle them. Another is that outlets that are currently getting access do not always follow the same rigorous specialist standards as those that have been checked by the WHCA.
He said,” We have a lot of our team and our reporters in [the pool ]”. However, there are those who are asking questions like “is he slim today?” or “is he skinny now?” and those things are not what the United citizens want investigators to do when they report on the most significant business in the country.
Trump did not attend Saturday’s White House Correspondents Dinner, a celebration of the Washington information press that he has never attended as president, as those divergent beliefs come to an end.
The WHCA even took the unusual step of rescheduling the show’s artist this time. Comedian Amber Ruffin would have been the winner, but she was fired after making anti-Trump remarks in a radio interview.
Daniels added that this is no longer the time for jokes.
The types of video we’re showing on Saturday night will be different and look different than they have in the history, he said, adding that because we haven’t replaced people and have given comedy in general. They are” a little more honest than funny,” they say.
Kind refrained from assuming that the Trump presidency is stifling the press or political access, citing his recent interview with Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg as evidence that he isn’t hesitant to ask difficult questions.
She continued,” We always want to respect the First Amendment, but I don’t want to think that we’re going against it because I don’t think we do,” she continued.
Trump to meet with Jeffrey Goldberg, a columnist for Signalgate, for an appointment.
On that matter, the White House and the WHCA will have to come to terms with their differences for the time being.
” It’s a new standard that no one asked for,” Daniels said. The British citizens are falling behind.
