Following the contentious Atlantic statement that Goldberg was added to a secret group discussion involving major Trump representatives and contentious national security conversations, US president Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he would meet with Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic.
Federal safety director Mike Waltz apparently unintentionally added Goldberg to a Signal group talk in later March. Other senior Trump administration officials were also present for a discussion of classified information relating to a US attack on Yemeni Houthi goals.
Trump claimed on Truth Social that he was doing it” as a competition” with himself and “out of excitement.” He questioned whether The Atlantic, which he has accused of discrimination, is capable of writing a good report about him. The interview may have Goldberg along with Ashley Parker and journalists Michael Scherer, and it will be a portion of a larger item titled,” The most significant president of this century,” according to Trump.

The Trump administration immediately denied the hole, claiming that no sensitive information had been compromised. Afterwards, defense secretary Pete Hegseth alleged that the conversation had been exaggerated and called Goldberg “deceitful”. However, after receiving more and more common attention, Goldberg released photos of the conversation.
Trump and Goldberg have a history of people disagreement, with one reporting that Trump called fallen US military “losers,” a claim the senator continues to refute.
