He stated that” we are now evacuating and transporting the injured to nearby clinical centers.”
Residents of Fars reported that the explosion was so strong that it could be felt and audible some 50 kilometers away, with some reporting that they could feel the ground tremble even if they were far from the dock.
According to AFP, the wave was so strong that the majority of the dock buildings were seriously damaged, according to the Tasnim news company.
The Rajaei port, which generally handles container shipments, also has oil tanks and other petroleum facilities.
According to AFP, the state-owned National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company stated in a statement released by local internet that” the detonation at Shahid Rajaee Port has no relation to factories, power tanks, supply structures, or oil pipes.”
Hasanzadeh claimed that first responders were attempting to evacuate the area while others were attempting to do so, according to Iranian state television, according to news organization AP.
He claimed that the explosion occurred at the city’s Rajaei dock from containers.
The Rajaei slot primarily handles box traffic, but it also has oil tank and other petroleum facilities.
The port is situated on the narrow Persian Gulf Strait, which accounts for 20 % of the world’s oil trade, located about 1,050 kilometers ( 652 miles ) southeast of Tehran, Iran’s capital.
