The late Massachusetts representative for a long time, Jim McGovern, announced on Thursday that Molly McGovern, known as” the heart of our home,” passed away unexpectedly while visiting a friend in Italy.
Her father said in a declaration that the 23-year-old had only finished a semester abroad in Australia, which she had been fighting against a rare form of cancer.
In a tribute to the family on X, McGovern wrote,” Molly radiated natural joy,” and he was accompanied by his son Patrick McGovern, his wife Lisa McGovern.
He said,” She lit up every room with her beaming smile — full of laughter, countless comfort, and a sharpened wit that could destroy you in an instant.” She “refused to permit her condition slow her down as she faced a rare cancer diagnosis with unwavering courage, enthusiasm, and persistence.”
Other politicians, some of whom had already lost youngsters themselves, sent tributes and love.
