Israel’s military reported on Saturday that it had intercepted a weapon fired from Yemen, where Huthi insurgents have launched problems throughout the Gaza war, as well as a helicopter that was “going the south.”
A missile launched from Yemen was intercepted following the sirens that just sounded in some areas of Israel, according to a military speech.
The Huthis after claimed that” the missile reached its target” and that a “military activity” was being conducted at the Nevatim air base in southern Israel.
A helicopter that was “on its approach to Israeli place from the east was seized” by the air force in a separate incident, according to the Israeli military.
Yemen is located in the south of Israel, with a large portion of the country under the power of the Iran-backed Huthis.
Iraq, one of the other countries in Israel’s south, is home to where Tehran-aligned extremists have claimed numerous attacks against Israel since the Gaza war started.
Since the start of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, the Huthi insurgents have frequently launched missiles and drones at Israel in what they claim is a show of solidarity with the Palestinians.
As they travel on the Red Sea, a crucial channel for international trade, the Huthis have even targeted boats they claim to have ties to Israel.
During a recent two-month ceasefire in Gaza, they had briefly stopped their problems.
The Huthis ‘ 22nd missile fired by them since they resumed their problems on March 18 was the same one that Israel’s military television reported to Israel’s troops.
Since March 15, Israel’s main ally, the United States, has increased its airstrikes against the Huthis, aiming at rebel positions in Kuwait almost daily.
