According to numerous studies, China has begun exempting some U.S.-made items from its 125 % tariff.

A report from the Wall Street Journal on Saturday detailed the decision by Chinese authorities to exempt U.S.-made electronics, chipmaking gear, medical products, and aerospace elements from the steep price it levied after President Donald Trump imposed a 14,55 % tax on the nation. After realizing it wouldn’t be able to buy the goods from other countries, China decided to apply the deductions.

China began preparing a list of U.S. imports it planned to exempt from the price when the trade conflict with Trump escalated in the early stages of April following the U.S. president’s” Liberation Day” announcement. According to individuals with knowledge of the situation, that list includes business chemicals like glass and ethane, printing devices, helicopters, and vaccines.

One man told the outlet that China has not made the exemptions publicly known because they fear they might expose weaknesses in its market.

Any deal conversations between the US and China appear to be unimportant.

Trump acknowledged speaking with Chinese President Xi Jinping “many days” on Friday, but he declined to provide any specifics about the exchanges.

Later, the U.S. leader stated that he would provide more information on the phone “at the suitable time,” but that he wanted to” see if we can create a deal” first.

” We have a lot of things going on, and I think, in the end, we’re going to end up with a lot of great deals, including tax offers and business offers,” Trump said. ” I believe the tax strategy is proceeding very well,” she said.

Chinese leaders have nevertheless maintained that there haven’t been any trade talks between Beijing and Washington.
