CNN reported that Trump’s 41 % approval rating, which included a Fox News poll, is the lowest for any newly elected president in at least 100 times, including his own first name, as well as other recent polls that showed his submerged approval rating, including one from a Fox News poll.
Trump’s endorsement score has dropped seven items since February and four points since March. Only 22 % of respondents said they were completely satisfied with how Trump handled the position. The public is less confident in his ability to handle all of his big problems.
Economy
Since the start of Trump’s tax strategy, which caused the stock market to fluctuate and concerns about rising prices, his approval ratings on financial issues have fallen significantly since early March. On inflation, approval falls 9 points to 35 %, and it falls 4 points to 35 % on tariffs as well. His ratings for managing the business have dropped 5 points to a job low of 39 %; he previously had his lowest rating in his first year and once more in March. In contrast to a December CNN poll, only about half ( 52 % ) of respondents express confidence in their ability to deal with the economy.
Russia-Ukraine conflict
Trump’s international matters, including his position on the Russia-Ukraine battle, which he promised he did stop on day one, are largely supported and 60 % disapproved of. Half of the people who spoke to him claim to have confidence in him now, along from 55 % before he took office.
Immigration
According to the CNN poll, 44 % of people support his position on immigration, down 6 points from March, and 53 % express confidence in his ability to deal with it, down from 60 % in December.
Trump receives only a pass on one of the poll’s poll-queried questions: how he handles problems involving gender identity and transgender people. Overall, 51 % of Republicans, 48 % of independents, and 16 % of Democrats applaud his handling of that issue.
SSRS conducted the CNN poll on 1, 678 people globally between April 17 and April 24 using a mix of online and phone interviews. The study samples were combined from both a registration-based sample and a probability-based website panel, and were originally drawn from two sources. Initial methods of communication included email, telephone, or mail. Results for the entire test have a plus or minus 2.9 point margin of sampling mistake.
