In connection with a story planning corruption case, a Dhaka prosecutor has mandated that an arrest warrant be issued through Interpol against Saima Wazed Putul, the girl of ousted Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Following a request from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain issued the order on Sunday.
Saima Wazed, Hasina’s daughter, is now the South-East Asia region’s local director.
The committee had requested the release of the Interpol warrant, according to a media statement that quoted court and ACC sources, and the judge granted the request after a reading.
In the same problem situation, the judge had issued arrest warrants for Hasina and Wazed on April 10.
