Federal officials announced Sunday that more than 100 unlawful immigrants were detained in a big attack at an underground bar in Colorado Springs, which authorities say was “frequented by TdA and MS-13 jihadists. ”
The Drug Enforcement Administration ( DEA ) Rocky Mountain Division led the early-morning, multi-agency operation, arresting 114 illegal immigrants at the venue, which held more than 200 people at the time. During the attack, officials uncovered drugs—including bright cocaine—as well as proof of trafficking and multiple weapon, according to the DEA.
“@DHSgov has taken more than 100 illegal aliens into captivity, ” DEA Rocky Mountain said in a blog on X. “Drugs and arms have also been seized at this underground bar in Colorado Springs. ”
President Donald Trump commented on the activity in a Truth Social article on Sunday. “A great Raid last night on some of the worst people illegally in our Country — Drug Sellers, Murderers, and other Aggressive Thieves, of all shapes and sizes, and Judges don’t need to take them back to where they came from, ” Trump wrote. “If we don’t win this battle at the Supreme Court, our State, as we know it, is FINISHED! It will be a Murder ridden MESS. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! ”
Attorney General Pamela Bondi praised the operation, which involved 300 officials across multiple agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ( ATF).
“This morning @DEAHQ apprehended over 100 illegal aliens at an underground night club frequented by Tda and MS-13 terrorists, ” Bondi said in a post on X. “Cocaine, meth, and green cocaine was seized. ”
U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE), Homeland Security Investigations, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado Springs Police Department were also key participants in the raid, reports Fox news.
Images from the activity showed officials from the U. S. Postal Service and IRS making detention, in what officials described as a whole-of-government approach to immigration protection. Particularly, a U. S. Postal Service investigator and an adviser with IRS Criminal Investigations were seen taking people into prison.
DEA Acting Administrator Derek Maltz recently said that Colorado has become “ground low for some of the most violent offenders in America, ” including command from Tren de Aragua, according to Denver 7.
Local authorities have pointed to express guidelines as contributing factors. “Colorado without question has been a hub for illegal immigration due to the sanctuary policies of the city of Denver in conjunction with radical legislation ( including this session ) from the State Capitol affirming Colorado’s sanctuary status, ” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly told The Gazette, which first reported the story. “As the Judge of Douglas County I will do everything I may within Colorado laws to support our national lovers. This, in turn, helps retain my society safe. ”
Many of those detained are expected to experience federal immigration costs, according to the DEA Rocky Mountain Division. Attorney General Bondi added that at least two people were also arrested on excellent permits.
Among those found at the pub were about a hundred U. S. active-duty service people, according to specific DEA Rocky Mountain representative Jonathan Pullen. The service people were apparently either customers or working as military security.
“ I think that everyone that goes into a nightclub at 3 o’clock in the morning knows what they’re getting into, ” Pullen told Denver 7. “The active work servicemembers who were there may be dealt with by Army CID [ Criminal Investigation Division]. They were on scene with us, and they are companions in this research. ”
DEA Rocky Mountain confirmed to Fox News that while the services people have been detained, they are not now under arrest. “Colorado Springs is waking up to a safer capital this Sunday night, ” Pullen said during a media briefing.
Attorney General Bondi, celebrating the operation’s victory, said, “As we view his 100 times in business @POTUS Trump’s policy to make America healthy again is achieving results! ” in a blog on X.
However, Colorado Springs Chief of Police Adrian Vasquez clarified that the department’s engagement was focused entirely on addressing legal violations affecting neighborhood safety, and not on immigration enforcement, as state law restricts for activities.
