Vivek Ramaswamy was the title speech at Ohio’s Wayne County Republican Party Lincoln-Reagan meal over the weekend, but it’s what happened before the meal that actually made information. Â

Prior to the event, a group of Democrat activists confronted the presidential hopeful with evidence that read,” No Lincoln or Reagan’s America Anymore” and” Your BillionsWon’t Get Ohio. ” The common suspects sounded their hellish noisemakers as vehicles drove by honking their ears. Â
Undaunted, Ramaswamy asked a activist named Sandy,” What do you want to view in Ohio? ” Â
” I don’t want [to lose ] all these jobs. I’m a senior, and I’m worried about the health care and the VA,” she said. ” I don’t need them folks being fired. What we care about is soldiers getting their advantages. “
Ramaswamy replied,” Yeah, so we’re gonna make certain soldiers get their rewards in the state of Ohio. Being fired is another thing, but that’s distinct from making sure that we even gotta reform government, because that’s a different matter. ” Â
When he learned that she is a Vietnam veteran, he extended his hand and said,” Well, thank you for your service. “
Then he did everything unexpected—he invited the activists to get his unique visitors at the meal, which was held at the Greystone Event Center in Wooster, Ohio. Â
” All right, if some few of you want to come as my guests, you’re welcome tonight. All I ask is keep an open mind,” he said. ” We’ll do the same. We’re not going to believe on everything, but as long as we’re talking to each other in a polite, civil way, then I do think that we’re going to be successful as a condition. “

Sandy, whose past title was not made accessible, was the only Democrat who took him up on the offer. Once inside the place, he took her away and said,” I think that maybe we need to speak to each other a little bit, yeah, and no, not all people are the same… no all Americans are the same. ” Â
” But maybe, just talk to people, and you never may agree on anything. That’d be very dull if we did, but like the supper tonight and tell me what you think,” he added. Â
He hugged her, and she replied,” You all have given me a different perspective on Republicans. “
Eventually, he recognized Sandy and commended her support in Vietnam. He asked her to come live and held the camera so she could speak. ” I appreciate you giving us a chance to talk to you around,” she said. ” I definitely wasn’t expecting it, because I’m not a Trump man. ” Â
They both laughed, and he quipped,” I was expecting that. ” Â
” Thank you for your open-mindedness,” he continued. The Republican group responded with passionate acclaim. Â
Ramaswamy posted the video on social media with the opinion,” Met a group of outspoken Democrat protest outside now & invited one of them in to join us for breakfast. She’s a Vietnam senior, was courteous & listened cautiously through the night. What she said by the end was amazing. ” Â

Now, there are two practical ( in my opinion ) challengers to replace Gov. Mike DeWine — Ramaswamy and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. That said, if former Ohio State coach and recent Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel enters the culture, it may stir things up. President Trump, Elon Musk, and a host of other MAGA giants have endorsed Ramaswamy, but Yost has a long story in Ohio politicians and has always been a good conservative president. Ramaswamy’s testimonials have dampened Yost’s battle, but we’re a long way from November 2026, and a lot may occur. The success of the 2026 key may face public health official Amy Acton, the just declared member on the Democrat side thus far. She’s the pro-abortion Democrat who led DeWine’s harsh COVID-19 evacuations. Another possible Democrat contenders include past U. S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and past U. S. Rep. Tim Ryan, both of whom were ousted by citizens in new “red storm” votes in the Buckeye State. Â
