Laura Loomer, a close ally of Donald Trump, went on a trip spree against Lockheed Martin, calling the defence contractor’s$ 2 trillion F-35 system “woke, destructive, and an enormous waste of taxpayer money.”
Loomer claimed in a comprehensive article on X that despite having performance issues, the Pentagon’s most expensive weapons program, the F-35 Lightning II warrior jet, had been accepted by the US Air Force.
According to Loomer,” the F-35 system, one of the most expensive arms programs in story, is plagued by delays, defects, and quite incompetence.” ” The US Air Force is accepting planes with insufficient sensor networks,” the statement reads.
Loomer even criticized Lockheed Martin for putting “woke” goals due to military readiness, citing the company’s earlier diversity and inclusion initiatives that were canceled in January after Trump took office.
This is federal and tax waste on an unfathomable scale, and it’s coming from our pockets, too! she continued.
Loomer made reference to a number of documented problems with the F-35, including delayed software updates, degrading cunning wood, and back-schedule mission system upgrades, which the Pentagon’s highest-ranking weapons testers discussed earlier this year.
Despite its flaws, the F-35 is still at the center of US defense strategy, with roughly 2,500 jets expected to be produced. Lockheed has justified the aircraft, stating that it has been tested and offers unmatched systems.
A Lockheed spokesman told Business Insider that the F-35 is the” corner of the space for 20 allied governments.” It has been proven to be combat-ready, has the most sophisticated capacity and technology, and is the least expensive option to ensure that the United States and allies stay ahead of emerging threats.
Elon Musk, a Trump supporter and the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, shared Loomer’s reservations on Saturday.
Cheap drone swarms of affordable aircraft will quickly destroy damaged aircraft, Musk warned on X.
Loomer urged Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump, and Musk to launch an investigation into the system.
She wrote,” It’s time we had authority who isn’t afraid to challenge these dishonest security contractors.” The American citizens need solutions, they say.
