Elon Musk promised that the Department of Government Efficiency would continue to work yet as his term as president of the Trump presidency is set to end at the end of this month.

In an interview that aired on Thursday, Musk and his DOGE crew sat down with Fox News ‘ Jesse Watters at their office to discuss what they’ve learned from their time in Washington, D.C.

The businessman CEO stressed the need to monitor and eliminate waste and forgery within the federal government in the upcoming months and years.

” It’s a long-term enterprise because if we take our eye off the ball, the waste and fraud will come roaring back,” Musk told Jesse Watters on Fox News ‘ Primetime.

” We’re trying to have it be such that the offers are gone, and the money is removed.” The Tesla CEO added that a lot of work is needed to resume the waste and scams.

At the end of May, Musk’s day as a specific government worker ( people who work for no more than 130 days&nbsp, in any 365 consecutive days ) expires. He has also predicted that his involvement with DOGE do” significantly decrease” in May as Tesla’s property and income declined during the first few weeks of 2025.

He stated at a White House case meeting on Wednesday that DOGE had already squandered$ 160 billion and bid the officials farewell. Musk told Trump at the White House on Wednesday, “it’s been an recognition to work with your remarkable Cabinet.” It was an recognition to work with you, but thank you for everything.” I would just like to say thank you to people.

Trump claimed at the time of the gathering that Musk is “invited to be as long as you want.”

The Tesla CEO predicted that his involvement with the Trump administration may be limited to “days or two per year” in May. On Tuesday, The New York Post revealed that Musk was not long employed by the West Wing.

Musk’s proposed$ 160 billion figure is significantly lower than the$ 1 trillion cut he promised in January and$ 2 trillion less than the$ 2 trillion figure he floated in the fall.
