A plane that was once owned by the Qatari government is being renovated by President Donald Trump to become a new national aircraft.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the White House has requested from defence firm L3Harris to change a Boeing 747 that was once owned by Qatar. Although Boeing has been hired to build two Air Force One replacement jets, the task has fallen way behind schedule. &nbsp,

Trump wants to use the aircraft as soon as this drop. Due to their specialized tools for national security and communication, Air Force One jets are some of the most challenging aircraft in the world.

Trump ordered two new political aircraft during his first leadership, and Boeing secured a$ 3.9 million contract to build them. However, the task, which was anticipated to be finished by the end of last year, is now years behind schedule and over funds after numerous losses. During the Biden administration, Frank Kendall, the Air Force minister, had thought about revoke Boeing’s deal for the job. &nbsp,

Prior to Trump’s opening, top U.S. Air Force leaders and the White House Military Office apparently considered canceling Boeing’s commitment, and Trump White House leaders have discussed the possibility of suing the company.

Former President George H. W. Bush is the latest VC-25As’s day. If one of the two airplanes is being worked on, they need regular servicing and may restrict the government’s travels abroad.

Trump also wants to change the Air Force One’s system colour scheme. He prefers the red, white, and dark blue planes to suit his private plane, though painting them for a darker blue might cause issues with overheating.

In February, the president said he would look for new political planes and that he would look for them abroad.

Trump made the remarks to investigators onboard the Air Force One, saying,” I’m not happy with Boeing.” It takes them a while to complete, you know, Air Force One. We long ago canceled that contract as a fixed-price agreement, and I’m unhappy with how long it’s been going and how we might change it.

The White House contacted The Washington Examiner for more information about the project, but they did not respond.
