American police announced on Thursday that counterterrorism investigators would look into comments made by British hip-hop group Kneecap, which American politicians have criticized for making remarks about the Middle East and American politics.
The Irish-speaking performers from Northern Ireland were identified by police after footage from a 2024 music showed a group member allegedly saying,” The only good Tory is a useless Tory.” Your neighborhood politician should be dead. A part of the trio is reportedly shouting “up Hamas, off Hezbollah” at another music, which is being held in the UK in 2023.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the clips were sent to the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral System for evaluation by expert officers who determined there are basis for further research into possible crimes connected to both videos.

    Poll

Do you think Kneecap’s statements warrant a cybersecurity research, in your opinion?

The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command soldiers are currently conducting the investigation, and complaints are still continued at this time, the pressure stated in a declaration.
The Belfast group is renowned for its humorous language and symbolic imagery that are associated with the British Republican Movement, which aims to bring Northern Ireland, which is already a part of the UK, to the Republic of Ireland. In Northern Ireland, more than 3,600 people were killed as a result of three decades of fighting between British democratic extremists, pro-British Loyalist armies, and the British security forces.
Kneecap’s statements received criticism in the House of Commons this week from government and opposition politicians who noted that two Parliament people have been murdered since 2016 and have not been in the public eye.
Band people Liam Og O Hannaidh, Naoise O Caireallain, and JJ O Dochartaigh expressed regret to the people of Labour Party senator Jo Cox, who was killed by a far-right intruder in 2016, and Conservative lawmaker David Amess, who was murdered by an Islamic State admirer in 2021 in a statement posted on Instagram.
The party continued,” We always intended to hurt you.” In response to the singer’s condemnation of Israel’s strikes on Palestinians in Gaza, Kneecap claimed it had “never supported Hamas or Hezbollah” and accused “establishment numbers” of fabricating “moral frenzy.”
Due to the controversy, some Kneecap gigs have been canceled, and some English lawmakers have requested that the group’s planned performance be canceled.
Other players have sprung up in the performers ‘ side. A” clear, deliberate attempt to censor and ultimately deplatform” Knees and oppose “political repression of artistic freedom” have some performers signed an open letter, including American rock group Primal Scream, European band Fontaines DC, and game singer Paul Weller.
