When I first saw a post on actor and performer Ruth Buzzi’s Instagram page on Thursday morning, when I opened Facebook. Her father stated:
This is the father of Ruth Buzzi’s website. She thanked you all for being so kind to her for so many times. She wants you to know that watching those displays was probably more enjoyable than watching them. She must stop writing because of health problems, but she will also enjoy your content.

He came to the conclusion,” Ruthie loves you,” after which he asked supporters to post photos they had taken over the years of her.
Another article titled” Ruth Buzzi passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Texas” was published on Friday night. She lived a complete, amazing life at the age of 88.
Buzzi was born in Rhode Island on July 24, 1936, and raised in Connecticut. She moved to the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts and served as the great school’s mind cheer. Before getting her first big crack on” The Garry Moore Show,” the exact variety show that launched Carol Burnett’s television job, she toured with operas and appeared off-Broadway.
Before making her best-known role in the cast of” Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In,” Buzzi made her first appearance in commercials and the original cast of” Sweet Charity” on Broadway. During the course of the show, in which she played many characters, she received five Emmy votes and won a Golden Globe. The homely spinster Gladys, who made her most prominent, viciously hit men with her handbag when she thought they were on her.
After” Laugh-In,” Buzzi joined Burnett, Lucille Ball, and Steve Allen in acting in a number of shows, did voice function, and appeared on numerous television shows and game shows, among others. She was a member of the cast of the 1984 syndicated special” Don’t Question Me, Ask God,” which offered biblical explanations for history’s difficult questions.

She released a country one with the title” You Oughta Hear the Song” in 1977. She afterward made fun of the album’s lack of success because it didn’t buy also.
Ruth Buzzi- How’s a medley of my smash hit song. I want to thank everyone who didn’t purchase a copy. Instead of standing in front of all those enraging followers in ’78, I had the freedom to spend quality time at home. tls: //t. via @YouTube: co/P9jNMS11ZX— RUTH BUZZI ( @Ruth_A_Buzzi ) May 29, 2022
Later, Buzzi appeared on soap operas as a guest, performed in a number of clubs, and was a part of the” Sesame Street” cast for several years. In 1978, she and professional Kent Perkins moved to a 600-acre house in Texas.
Over the years, Perkins and Buzzi have organized numerous charitable events, including those for the Dallas Museum of Biblical Art, St. Jude’s Children’s Doctor, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Buzzi and her spouse had a sizable collection of vintage cars, which they were glad of. She and her husband were avid painters.
Over the years, Buzzi has maintained a wonderful presence on Facebook and X. She shared her cheerful sense of humor on social media, her Hollywood past, and her story of the estate life. ( And she followed me on X, which demonstrates her superior taste! ) I don’t own conclusive proof that she was a traditional because of some of what she said on social media.

She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2012, and in 2021, she stopped acting. She was slowed down by a series of stroke in 2022, but she continued to post on social media up until this year. On Thursday, she passed away in her sleep.
Rest in peace, Ruth Buzzi. You’ll become greatly missed.
