Taiwan uncovered seven sorties of People’s Liberation Army ( PLA ) aircraft, seven PLAN-based vessels, and one ship that was operating close to Taiwan until 6 am ( local time ) on Saturday.
All seven sorties entered Taiwan’s northern and southern Air Defence Identification Zone ( ADIZ ), according to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense ( MND). They all crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
Taiwan’s armed forces deployed plane, naval ships, and southern missile systems to keep track of the situation in response to Chinese exercise.
According to MND, who shared a post on X,” 7 sorties of PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels, and 1 official ship operating around Taiwan were discovered up until 6 a.m. ( UTC+8 ) today. 7 of the 7 missions entered Taiwan’s northern and southern ADIZ after crossing the middle range. We have responded and closely monitored the position.
On Friday, MND discovered five sorties of PLA aircraft, seven PLAN vessels, and one ship that was stationed close to Taiwan until 6 am ( local time ).
One of the five sorties entered Taiwan’s southwest ADIZ after crossing the Taiwan Strait’s middle range.
This incident is the latest in a series of China’s new incursions to Taiwan that have raised questions about regional balance as Beijing asserts its claims over the island. Since 1949, Taiwan has been administered freely. Taiwan is still considered a part of its territory by China, and it will likely insist on unification by force if necessary.
China and Taiwan have often made accusations of spying, and Taiwan has detained some individuals it claims Beijing has hired to sway public opinion. Beijing typically rejects any involvement in Taiwan’s spy functions, calling the allegations “politically motivated” or “groundless,” according to RFA.
However, according to a study conducted by the Carter Center and Emory University in Atlanta, more than half of Taiwanese people oppose using power to ever truly combine Taiwan, as reported by the Taipei Times.
According to the results, which were made public on Wednesday in a statement titled” Sovereignty, Security, and US-China Relations: Taiwanese Public Opinion,” 55.1 percent of respondents “almost agreed or at least partially agreed that” the Taiwan issue should not be resolved by army under any circumstances. In contrast, 24.5 percent, according to the Taipei Times, either” highly” or “temporarily” disagreed with this assertion. ( ANI )
